She was a child actor who became famous for her performance in the role of Kelly Bundy on Fox's sitcom Married... with Children (1987-1997). Applegate was a highly successful actor and producer in both film and on television. She received an Primetime Emmy Award, seven nominations, and nominations for four Golden Globe Awards as well as an Tony Award. Applegate played the title role in the NBC sitcom Jesse (1998-2000) in which she was nominated for the Golden Globe Award. She also won a Primetime Emmy Award for her guest appearance on the NBC sitcom Friends (2002-2003). She was nominated for the Tony Award as Best Actress in a Musical for her performance in Sweet Charity (2005). Applegate then starred in the ABC sitcom Samantha Who? (2007-2009), for which she earned two Primetime Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award nominations. Other shows include the NBC sitcom Up All Night (2011-2012) and the Netflix dark, tragicomedy drama Dead to Me (2019-2022) which brought her three Primetime Emmy Award nominations and the Golden Globe Award nomination.Applegate has played major roles in a number of films, including Don't Tell Mom that the Babysitter's Dead (1991), The Big Hit (1998), The Sweetest Thing (2002), Grand Theft Parsons (2003), Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004), Hall Pass (2011), Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (2013), Vacation (2015), Bad Moms (2016), and Crash Pad (2017).
